Located to the west of Mutianyu, Xiangshui Lake Great Wall belongs to the Great Wall of the Ming Dynasty, and is 78km away from downtown Beijing and 28km away from downtown Huairou.

With a total area of 18 square kilometers, Xiangshui Lake Scenic Spot brings together the Great Wall, ancient caves, mountain rivers, springs, and ponds, a waterfall, and cliff side carvings of the Ming Dynasty, and is reputed as another well-received and graceful tourist resort in the suburbs of Beijing.

Xiangshui Lake gets its name not for its large water area, but for its water source where the spring water gushes ceaselessly and sounds like thunder, which is audible beyond a 1,000-meter range.

Xiangshui Lake is the largest spring in Huairou District, and serves as the drinking water source for neighboring villages and is one of the sources for the Huairou Reservoir.

From the spring, water gushes at 0.3 m3/s, with a daily runoff of 25,937 tons. Water in Xiangshui Lake is sweet, cool, and delicious.
